Our Teaching Philosophy

Our teaching philosophy aims to help our students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. In order to cultivate exceptional musicianship, we believe that guiding our students through four essential tools that will lead our students to success.

The first tool is careful listening. Being able to listen carefully is the key to identifying details in music. We strongly believe that developing the skill of advanced listening helps students to self evaluate the music that they make. This is also the key to efficient practicing when learning a musical instrument.

The second tool is self motivation. Our teachers are committed to delivering the positive energy of self awareness. We believe in self motivated learning, and our teachers are all passionate and driven musicians who love sharing this passion with our students. Through our guidance, our students are able to achieve self motivation to practice their musical instruments on their own.

The third tool is creative and critical thinking. We believe that through playing a musical instrument, our students develop the skill of critical thinking, which helps them find a more creative way to solve problems. We believe that cultivating this tool not only helps with playing a musical instrument, but also helps the student to become a better learner and thinker in their daily lives.

The last tool is taking risks. We encourage our students to perform and put themselves out there when learning a musical instrument. Performing in front of audiences is one of the best ways to learn from taking risks. We believe that our students are able to refine their process of preparation from the success they have performing, as well as what they believe they could improve.

We take responsibility to provide our students an encouraging and positive learning process. Our teachers also love to learn from teaching students, who come from different backgrounds and cultures. Through learning a musical instrument, we believe that our students can not only learn to accomplish, but excel at difficult tasks, and learn how to work to achieve success in their lives.
